CUP Stopped Working

Postby wmconlon » 17 August 2017, 02:00

When I launch COFE/COFE64 3.2.0.14 I now get a dialog box that CUP has stopped working.

Should I unistall and re-install to get the updater working, or is there some other issue?

I cannot reproduce this issue on my end.

Which operating system are you at?

Can you manually run CUP without problems? If not, can you try removing %temp%\_COCO_UPDATE_FILES_ and try again?

If the problem appears just from within COFE, you can turn off the update check: Edit/Preferences/General.

I get this by running CUP Standalone under Windows 7 64-bit

Confirmed. Upon checking, I see indeed that ChemSep's update info is not currently signed. I have asked the ChemSep authors to fix it (which may take a bit due to holidays I am afraid).

In the mean time, either just ignore the errror, tick off the COFE auto update, or manually edit your cup.dat file to remove the ChemSep feature (pending a manual update of ChemSep).

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Pending the repair on ChemSep's side, I fixed CUP to circumvent the issue. You should be able to safely enable the automatic update check again.
