Installing Scilab within COCO

Postby nrgeng » 15 November 2017, 15:19

While following your references in a previous COCO Posting, here is what I did to install Scilab successfully. Note, Scilab 5.5.2 was previously installed and operational.

View a listing of Scilab functions at https://help.scilab.org/docs/6.0.0/en_US/index.html

Procedure to install Scilab 6.0.0 within Windows 10 V1703
    Download Scilab from REF1
    Install Scilab
Download SciLab Thermo Import from REF2
Download SciLab Unit Operation from REF3
    Install SciLab Thermo Import
Create a new flowsheet within COCO 3.2.0.17
Insert a Custom SciLab Unit Operation
Insert two Feed Streams and a Product Stream
Edit the Custom SciLab Unit to add two Feed Streams and one Product Stream
Copy and Paste the Scilab script from the Example in REF3 into the Custom SciLab Unit
Connect the three streams to the Custom SciLab Unit
    Validate the flowsheet specification
    Solve the flowsheet

Thanks for all of your efforts in making Scilab available for use within COCO.

Postby nrgeng » 21 December 2017, 13:13

Addressed to All:

Presenting a Holiday challenge for those looking to kill some time between watching ball games. No prizes will be awarded just the satisfaction of a job well done.

To those of you who are adventurous and like a challenge, you could model the following problem to check your Scilab skills. Enjoy!

Note: No COCO Imports are required to be installed into Scilab for this challenge.
