regression

Postby aken » 11 January 2019, 10:56

hi,
l noticed some binary compounds lack the interaction parameters, does COCO have a regression feature if one has experimental data like Pxy at given temperature. if yes how, l tried to peruse around the software did not see any regression feature. also is there a way l can specify temperature and vapour fraction in the COCO flash, l tried but it only accepted pressure and vapour fraction only.

kind regards,
Akan

COCO does not currently have this feature. As regression is typically done on binaries, it is rather easily set up using for example Excel. You will need to either copy the vapor pressure equations to Excel, or use Excel CAPE-OPEN thermo to evaluate the vapor pressures.

TEA does a T-VF flash; the flash unit operation does not have that as an input option though, as it is a rather uncommon specification.

To get COCO output into Excel: https://www.cocosimulator.org/index_help.php?page=COFE/Automation/Excel/excel.htm

To use thermo directly in Excel, perhaps a better alternative for what you want to accomplish: https://www.amsterchem.com/excelthermo.html
