Flash separation

Postby thubelihle » 19 April 2022, 19:39

Hi;
Was wondering, if l have a feed composition, temperature and pressure, how do l flash this mixture to validate that the model l chose is the right one? And what will be the expected output parameters to validate the thermodynamics model? Kind regards

In COCO you can just enter these data into a stream, and it will flash automatically. You will have to add a dummy feed rate as well, e.g. 1.
If you have other data, such P, H, composition, enter a dummy T, and then click on overall H to change it. All black numbers can be entered, gray numbers are output only.
Alternatively, use the calculator.

Thanks Jasper for the reply. Using your experience what indicates normality and abnormality when flashing a stream? Kind regards.

I am not clear on the question. All T,P,composition flashes have a unique solution. If it solves, the only possible abnormality is that the phases are not stable, that is, not all phases are found.
